Romper Addiction

This shoot was taken right in Downtown Toronto on a gorgeous rooftop terrace. It had such an amazing 360 degree view of downtown from the CN Tower to the waterfront and more. It was simply breath taking.

Elaine:
Did you know that rompers used to be only worn by boys in France during the mid 1900's? It was most popularly used by young kids to go play in however it was not popular among adults. It only started to be noted as a fashionable garment for women in 2006! Brands like Marc Jacobs, American Apparel, and more have showcased versions of rompers over the past decade. It is mainly popular due to its versatility and being easily converted from morning to evening wear.

I wore a romper with sharp cutting to make it have a more modern appeal. It was covered in cool patterns to make it stand out more. It is super comfortable and is a closet staple this summer.

Romper: Suria Sabah Boutique
Shoes: Ugg Australia

Miranda:
I absolutely love rompers! They are comfortable yet fashionable. On my lazy days, I really don’t want to come up with a whole outfit and with rompers you can just slip it on and head out the door. They are my second love next to donuts being my first .

I love the pattern of this romper and also how the back is open and is criss-crossed. I admit it is a bit loose on me but nonetheless it is one of my favourite rompers! Since it has an open back I wore a white lace bando, which pairs nicely with the romper.
Romper: H&M
Shoes: Vans

A Wild Side To An Innocent Face

Today’s collaboration had a grunge feel to it bringing out our inner rebel.

Elaine:
I had nothing short of an amazing time. We found some cool sketch-free alleyways that were filled with graffiti and took some AMAZING photos.

Here is a funny story, when we were walking into Starbucks, my clumsiness got the best of me. I tripped and fell down in a very non-classy way. Imagine the embarrassment. But what can I say?! I know how to make one heck of an entrance.

I decided to pair a graphic tank top with my leather skirt for this collaboration. It makes it look more unique and out of the ordinary. The Topshop skirt had buckles and had a cool texture adding more flare to the whole look. This skirt can be worn with many other tops making it a closet staple.

Top: Forever 21
Skirt: Topshop
Shoes: Vintage
Miranda:
We spent hours in the graffiti filled alleyways and visually, I was astounded. Graffiti is so artistic and extraordinary, I really gained a new perspective and respect for it; it truly is a spectacular piece of art form. It was so amazing seeing all these alleyways covered in graffiti and we had one heck of a time taking photos there.

I have on a simple black dress that can be worn alone in a classy and formal way, but you can also turn it into a casual and non-formal outfit by adding a pair of sneakers and a plaid button-down shirt, or even a jean jacket on top. But I went for a more grunge look which matched perfectly with our graffiti set.

Dress: Anti-star
Plaid Shirt: Brandy Melville
Necklace: Aldo

Playing Dress Up

Elaine:
For today's shoot we took photos at my house. I love dressing up and today is all about that. Whether it is just because you are bored or just in the mood to feel like a princess, dressing up is a great stress reliever.
When I was a kid I would go into the bathroom to sing and dance to Britney Spears songs and day dream about being a superstar. I got to heighten that dream when our photographer put me in front of a fan as if I was a celebrity in a movie scene.

The earrings I am wearing are from Korea and really brings out the colour of my dress. This intricate piece adds more to the whole outfit.

This dress can be worn in multiple ways which makes it so versatile and suit all body types. Whether you want it to be a bit sexier to show more skin or to cover up more, just experiment with it, and you will bound to find something to suit you more.
Dress:Lulus
Shoes: Vintage

Miranda:
When I was a kid I would put on my mom's dress and makeup and get all dolled up just for fun. Being a little kid, I had no idea the purpose of any of the makeup tools and I mixed up the eyebrow pencil with a crayon, I even asked my mom, "are you sure this is used on the face and not on paper?" I totally dress up now too but I wear clothes that actually fit me and I know how to apply the makeup on my face.

This is one long necklace and I wrapped it around once because I really wanted to wear a choker, however I didn't have one with me so I used what I could.

I am wearing a two-piece outfit, a crop top and a bohemian looking maxi skirt. I like how the bottom of the skirt has a vibrant pink to it giving it a pop of colour and since the skirt is high-waisted I paired it with a crop top.

Skirt: Garage

Polka Dot Overall Skirt

We decided to take pictures in my home which made it more relaxed. I never thought that right in my backyard I could take pictures like this.

It was a sunny and hot day so I decided to wear a lightweight and comfortable outfit which can be worn two ways or more if you keep on experimenting with it.

Overall Skirt: Cotton On Australia
Crop Top: Sears
Shoes: Vintage

You can also wear this outfit in another way which have been one of my go-to outfits this summer since its so versatile. I just tuck the straps underneath and VIOLA its just a skirt. Since I have grown out of it, I had to wear shorts underneath to make it.. you know.. safe. I don't want people to look underneath, girls, you understand me right?

Thank you for reading & see you next time! Let us know what else you would like to see and we will get back to you. Happy FRIDAY folks!

Plaid Dress

Plaid button-down shirts are very in style right now, but how about plaid dresses?
Rarely do I ever see a plaid dress in this type of style in stores and I happened to come across one.
It is unique, stylish and you can dress it up or dress it down. I decided to go for a
more casual look pairing the dress with some vans skater shoes. I also wore a

halter tank inside for the outfit to have more of an interesting appeal.

All About Skirts

Just as the title suggests, todays collaboration is all about skirts and how we styled them.

Elaine:

It felt like a 'Dora Explorer' exploration when we took these photos in downtown Toronto. We got to walk around and see places we haven't seen before.
This bohemian skirt has been a summer staple of mine. It was borrowed from my sister Lydia (which also has a blog by the way, called thedoctorsguide) and has been stuck to it ever since. They're so comfortable and allows me to be lazy but still feel as though I am put together. I decided to pair it with a white crop top making the look more refined. I paired the look with my plain black flats.

Top: Topshop
Skirt: Free People
Shoes: Ugg

Miranda:

I love the nightlife in downtown; it is very captivating and lively. We were walking around and we saw these cool, colour changing fountains that we absolutely had to take pictures at.

This rose-petaled, flaring skirt pairs nicely with a sophisticated and chic black turtle neck top; making it a more classy look. I accessorized it with a short gold necklace that hugs around my neck.
Top: Le Souk
Skirt: from Korea
Shoes: Keds
Necklace: Aldo

Casual & Chic

Hi guys! In starting this blog, we took our different styles and collaborated our looks. To tell you a little about the preparation we put into starting this blog, we want to share some BTS (behind the scenes) with you. The night before the photo shoot, we spent hours over Skype (as we do not live close to each other) and picked outfits out and showed each other our choices, such as fancy or casual.

In our first photo shoot, we were very excited beforehand but also a little nervous because we didn’t know what to expect. However, our photographer helped ease the tension, we had each other and being the total goofballs we are, the day went by fast because of all the fun.

Rompers are a summer fave of mine especially if it is floral, being a girlie girl and all. I decided to pair it with thigh high boots to make the look a tad sexier. Since I wore thigh highs, I wanted to keep the accessories to a minimum simply by wearing a gold necklace.

Romper: Yumi Kim
Boots: Material Girl
I absolutely love these ripped high-waisted boyfriend jeans. They can be paired with various tops, but I went with a cropped tight fitting, cutaway neckline tank since the jeans were baggy and added a simple long gold necklace to make the outfit pop a little more. To make the look more casual (first photo), I wore my beige Keds. And for it to look a bit fancier, I wore vintage, plain black heels.

Top: Brandy Melville
Bottoms: Hollister
Necklace: Aldo
Shoes: Keds (1st Photo)
Vintage Heels (2nd Photo)

The Start Up of Bow N' Arrow

Hello world! Let us introduce ourselves. We are the Bow N' Arrow and by "we", we mean two best friends that came together to make a fun blog about our lives. I know, who actually cares about our lives right?

Well, the Bow N' Arrow showcases our individual sense of fashion, our lifestyles and how two very different people can come together targeting different audiences.

Who are the Bow N' Arrow you may ask?

I am Miranda, the shyer and quieter one and am a little bit of an awkward turtle at first, but once you get to know me I am this fun and energetic person who is an eccentric or people have told me...a bad joke teller.

Currently, I am in university studying business and am excited to see where this journey takes us.

Hello guys! I am Elaine. who can be a little too energetic sometimes. I laugh at almost anything and think that there is no such thing as "discretion is advised".

I went to Malaysia for a year and a bit to take a break from regular school to go experience something out of the ordinary. I travelled across Asia and learned more about international business and got to see that there is a whole other world outside Canada.

Now, we want to tell you how we met... it was grade 9 orientation and we were lining up to go into the cafeteria when Elaine seemed to appear out of nowhere and introduced herself to Miranda. From that moment onwards, everything seemed to go by so fast.
From boys, to university, and to travelling half way across the world, nothing seemed to separate us. We would always catch up from where we left off and fill each other in on the things that was happening in our lives. In September, it will be six years as best friends!

Hope you are excited to come with us on this journey and to see us grow every step of the way!
